Trans Temp guage question

Hey guys i just installed

B&M 80212 - B&M Analog Transmission Temperature Gauges - Overview - SummitRacing.com

i cant seem to get the guage to work. I have continuty from the sensor to the guage and ground. The guage lights up but it just doesnt move at all any ideas? You can also download the instructions on that page if you need to.

Couple of questions...

where did you install the sending unit in the transmission?
how long/far are you driving to do your test?

It takes a little bit for the transmission to get up to temp. to even start moving the needle, so maybe your not waiting long enough?

or...the sending unit is in the wrong location?

Mine was actually reading HOTTER than normal one time, when I was looking for the problem, I noticed the sending units wire was a little close to my header cross over. I moved it out of the way, and it got better, and back to normal. Thought...maybe add a thermo. sleeve to the wire, reads even cooler now, so now I know its more accurate and reading in real time, and not adding exhaust temp. to the over all temp.

i have the same gauge. i put the sending unit in the pressure port on top of the transmission. seems to read normal to me, although the needle doesnt start to move until its been driven for about 15-20min

I Have the temp sensor hooked into the steel return line. There is a power wire going to the sensor and a ground wire leaving the sensor going to a ground. Everything is hooked up right the guage lights up the needle just doesnt move at all even after i drive for 30 minutes.

The correct (usual) placement of the sending unit is what kfish said, in the top of the transmission using the pressure test port.
