    My trans in parts alone cost over $2k with me rebuilding it myself, but my trans is no slouch.
    1997 Black GTP 72k (4dr), 3.5 Pulley, Wbody Downpipe, Wbody Shift kit (street), DHP 1.0, NGK TR55ix Spark Plugs, GMP Handling kit, KYB AGX Struts, AT Italia Inox 245x45x18 Goodyear Eagle F1, GMPP Springs, Corvette C5 Calipers, Blazertech 3200, DHP Powertuner (97-03), Built Trans, Torsen Diff

    Like mention earlier, get a manual for the trans and all the parts before you even start taking it apart. Make sure you buy the rebuild kit from a reputable shop/store/manufacturer and that the kit they sell you is the correct one. It isn't that difficult, just take your time with the disassemble/reassembly of the trans and work in a clean place to avoid contamination. Good luck!
