I had the same problem Joe, last month (after the tranny R&R). No prior starting or battery problems prior to the tranny rebuild. All of a sudden, slow start or no start. I took the car to AutoZone for an alternator check, showed 104 AMPS on the testing station. I had checked the battery connections the day before and cleaned them up (really well, I thought). AutoZone found a loose terminal while there, tightened it up (on the battery itself). Later that same night, same problem. No start. Always jump starts though, NP. Next day, NP starting. My mechanic (Evan) that did the R&R said to bring it by, the next day. He took care of a leaking oil level sensor. He said he did not have to do anything to the charging system or the starter. He said he started it 30 times, NP. I went to pick it up, NP since. No trouble now going on about 3 weeks, including some nighttime driving (about 450 miles all total). Really weird problem drove me nuts for about a week. Good luck.
Congrats on the tranny re-install!
