My bad, didnt notice the HD tag at the top. I have never seen any HD diff other than the 3.29 ratio nor has any of my suppliers.
I thought you have never worked on these before?? Also why dont you read my post above, I already re-replied to my original responce saying I have never seen and HD diff other than 3.29 ratio, there is NO such thing as a 2.93 ratio differential in these transmissions

Just want to make sure I understand, the Hd diff is 3.29, but the hd transmision is 2.93 final drive cause of the chain? Sorry if I sound like a noob but myself and others may be confused by this, cause everyone says 3.29 FD for the non-hd and 2.93 FD for the hd trans

That is correct, the 3.29 is the final drive / differential ratio. The 2.93 is the Overall ratio between the sprocket ratio and the diff ratio. An HD transmission has a 37 tooth drive / 37 tooth driven sprocket combo which gives you a 1.121 overdrive from the sprocket ratio. 3.29/1.121 = 2.93 which is your overall ratio. The non HD transmission with the 3.29 diff have a 35 drive / 35 driven sprocket setup which is a 1.00 ratio and gives you the true 3.29 overall ratio.

To throw it out there, the Impala L36s came with 3.05FDR, but not as an HD.
