Hey everyone. I made a post about this a few months ago but it wasn't very clear and I didn't have a scan (now I do). Heres a quick rundown:

PRJ tuned my car in May and informed me that my 1-2 shift was a sloppy. I kinda figured it was because it started acting funny about 5K miles after I switched over to Dex 6 (got 2 trans fluid changes to totallly replace all the fluid with Dex6 (valvoline Dex6).

Apparently the shift time should be around .25 seconds and my car was shifting at .52 seconds??? I highlighted the part in the scan below. The numbers on the right in the yellow highlighted second is the Gear and the numbers on the left is the Shift Time.

When I am accelerating from a stop light I can tell that the trans is slipping because right at the end of the shift you can hear the engine rev a little bit.

I took it to a trans shop a few weeks ago (did not have the scan) and explainined everything to them but the guy just drove my car around and said it was ok. He took the car and hooked the trans up to the computer to see if it was spitting any goods and it came back clean. I remember PRJ telling me that once the shift time hits a certain number it will then throw a code, and its almost there. I can't remember what the shift time was that he told me but I was getting close with my .52.

I still have an GMPP Major Guard extended warranty on my car which goes to 72,000miles. The car has 57,000 on it right now. I was planning on tackling this in the spring but I've really been packing the miles on my car lately and I'd rather just get this over with now.

I need to know if, from the scan, anyone can tell if my trans is indeed shifting slow and then how do I approach a shop about this??? Thank you all.

if you have the warrenty. tell them its sliping and have them fix it. go ahead and take it in, so if they dont get it right, you still got some time to get it fixed right, for free.

also, i just got my tuner up and going, so idk. but the areas that your showing, looks like areas in the shift time colume. stock is .28-.30 and you can lower these to .01 so its shifting as fast as it can.

but like i said, idk, im still a newb and would like to hear what someone else has to say about it, cause i would like to know this also

Do another scan with desired shift time and then the actual. The difference should be obvious.

How much or how far you need before a mechanic or a warranty company will replace it..tough to say. if they feel it shift and there's no code, then they aren't going to see an issue.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

This is a stock scan so the desired shift is .32 (or close to that) and the actual was .52.

Dex 6 is too thin of a fluid for our trans. Theres no reason my car should have started slipping like this. This is goign to be a tough one to work out. I'm going to have to find a shop that wants to do some warranty work for an issue that is there but no too obvious.

Maybe I should just drain some fluid out then let the trans burn up, then refill and then take it back to a shop lol.

Took the car into a trans shop last week. They acknowledged that it is indeed slipping 1-2 shift at WOT. The trans guy was impressed with the shifting adjustments PRJ made under normal driving though. Anyway, they gave me a price for a rebuild ($2,000). I haven't broke it to them yet that I am still under warranty, I just wanted them to tell me that something was wrong with the car first.

I'm going to get this covered under warranty and try to get them to beef up my trans a little bit in the process. PRJ told me to get the Raybestos Red Clutches instead of the Borg-Warners. Anything else I can do that wouldn't be too expensive?

THought I might as well beef it up a little bit if someones going to be in there already.
