It looks to be mostly from the differential but I dont know that for fact yet as I havent gotten it pulled out. I hope to get that done tomorrow, though its supposed to get cold again so we'll have to see how that pans out.

Ouch Scotty!!! I must say I have seen a lot worse but that is pretty bad! At least you did drop the pan, I know some guys just swap the diff and keep drivingGet some pics up of the diff when you get it pulled, also look VERY closely at the teeth on the internal ring gear.... The piece that the diff actually rides inside.
I got a pretty good peek at it actually Dave. I didnt see any damage to it with what I could see. I probably got a good look at about 60% of it. I was actually quite surprised, I would have thought for the amount of metal in the pan that anything in contact with that differential would have been chewed up pretty good.
I will tell you that the sun gears on the differential looked pretty chewed up. I know those parts can be replaced, but I believe the spare differential I have is in excellent shape.
If I do nothing tomorrow, Im going to do my very best to get that differential pulled out and snap some pics of it.
