I was wondering if this is possible. Or is there a better something out their. I was reading the thrends and people were talking about tap shifters and shift kits. What are these and would that be better than A 5 speed?

Search, there are a few threads. One is a 6 speed swap from a newer G6, these work but are rated for the stock power we put out so they may end up breaking easily. One person is doing a 5 speed swap. Tap shifts are for the Comp G grand prixs and shift kits are for the automatics. Shift kits help with shifting greatly, you may want to get a shift kit from intense, its the best kit and I can say that I got the ZZP shift kit and will be buying the intense one instead as its a much better kit.

shifts kits can be nice but nothing beats a manual.

The one thats been done i know about he swapped in a 6 speed and had all kinds of troubles and the modifications he had to make to make it work ended up causing the vehicle to not be street legal. i dont think its gonna be worth your time and effort unless you can find a better way to do it. I would recommend getting a shift kit instead. i personally dont have one yet but plan to get one soon.

exactly, unless you've got a seriously built transmission.

What about the guys who have fiero's? They run l67's and don't break them to my knowledge

    that is a good question
Question answerd i have a buddy that had a fiero

There is a adapter plate for the stock fiero tranny to go to the l67 or if you have the money you can go with the g6 trans he said fiero axles might be stronger and thats why it works

you would need to delete the trans tables in the computer, with a tuner.
