Like the title says im thinking about getting one, If tranny man sells them then they must be good? Does it bypass the one in the radiator? I would want a trans cooler that uses both? is that possible? Reason i want one is because its been getting really hott here. I was driving around on Sunday which was like 100* and i noticed my trans temps were climbing, then i was merging onto an on-ramp and it hesitated then slipped on the downshift from 3rd to 2nd a little. I thought i might need a new trans but then i checked the fluid which was bright red but just boiling, lots o bubbles on the dip-stick. I tried ripping around at night when the temps dropped and i had no problems. I did get an over sized radiator because i thought it would keep the trans cool enough...

Just wondering if you have done a pan drop and filter change recently? If not get on that fasho!! Get some Dexron VI to replace the Dexron IV that is in there...and if you ain't got one...get a shift kit too from Dave...TransGo FTW!! Can't really give ya anymore insight on the cooler as I only have a stock...well...everything there. Honestly...I'd ask the source...see what Dave thinks

You don't want one that uses the built-in trans cooler to the radiator. The hot coolant in the radiator will only heat up the trans fluid even more. Get a stand alone cooler since that will yield you the best performance.

Or you can buy a OEM GM trans cooler made specifically for the wbody cars, which was an option at the dealership.

This is one of the best prices I've seen for this kit.

This is probably the one I'm going to get, although I'm looking into a bar/plate standalone cooler but I'm not sure if its worth the cost.
