Ok, most of you have seen my little saga in the General Tech forum, however this is now a trans issue, heres the low down:

Replaced Battery Tuesday 3/17. Car drove fine prior and after. Start car on Wed, horrible clacking sound from engine that faded in and out, trans shifted odd. Same thing going home, trans started to slip. Thrusday on way to work, lost all gears stranded on side of the road. When car is cold it shifts into gear and goes R1234 no issue, however there is a clacking noise, when warm no clacking noise, no gears, R-1 on shifter. Pumped out fluid replaced with Dex 6 and lucas, same result fine when cold, nothing when warm. Ideas? Thoughts? Prayers? Donations???

Ok, i have sent the car to the trans shop, same issue where it sounds like the pump is screaming to get fluid though the filter and then simply cuts out when warm to not damage the trans hence the no gears when warm. after speaking with Trannyman and a few people who have a lot of automotive experrience, they all seem to agree that it is indeed the filter and a simple change n flush will do the trick for now. Not saying that there isnt an issue with the trans, it is possible that there is an underlying problem that coudl still be wearing to have caused the trans to clogg up. it is also possible that since no service was ever done that like an oil and air filter, the years of ware has dirtied the filter. In my experience when something has gone on a trans, you hear it, a pop, a bang and marbles in a blender (happend to me twice prior in my oldcar), none of which is happening with my car and when cold shifts great. The trans shop immedietly with out looking at it said that there is an internal problem and wants 1500 to rebuild, i said no, there were no codes and dont have 1500 so im just waiting on them to do a tranny service and clean her out, im hoping this will give me some new life for a little bit longer.

$1500 for a triple edge transmission is more worth it......if it came down to that.

    VICTORY!!!!!!!
Drives like new!!! as soon as i started her up, after the tranny shop said i might need a tow back and to take the card, i noticed the pump stopped screaming, she shifts like new, 2-3-4 Lock Up All picture perfect, looks like 12 years of wear and the filter had enough, they said there was some metal in the pan, but again 12 years of wear there will be metal in there, not bad for a 37 dollar fix new filter, fluid cleaned out niceeee
