Ok here is my problem im using a torque converter from a gt trans and when i engage it to reverse it goes wit a little grind noise and when i put it in drive it just grinds. Is there anything causing that. Like maybe the converter not big enough to catch the drive gears on the shaft

Unless the converter itself is damage it wont matter as they all have the same splines. It almost sounds like the geartrain is gone in the trans which will definately making grinding noises. This could be from the gears in center of the trans or in the end of the differential as both can cause this.

Did you guys swap the diff? I am assuming he is referring to a bolt that is holding the diff cover to the main trans case and that has broke. If you swapped the diff and didnt pay careful attention to the bearing behind the park gear then there is a good chance the bearing fell out of place and it was put back together with an impact gun and it broke. When the bearing falls out of place it pushes the diff out too far and wont allow the diff cover to bolt down flush against the case and it will break. I have a diff install writeup on here that shows this in detail.
