So I started tearing my trans apart for a forward band replacement and upon pulling off the valve body channel plate, a small silver bushing fell out. I've looked all over the 156 pg 4T65E manual and I can't definitively identify what the part is, where it's located or it's purpose. Possibly part 410-Channel Plate Alignment Sleeve but I'd love to know if anyone else has info on this to be sure.

I believe you're right. It's the alignment sleeve.

So it essentially just sits in that bore for that channel plate bolt to go through?

So my other question is where is this part actually supposed to be located? From what I can gather it seems like it just sits loosely in a bolt hole for a channel plate bolt to go through, into the valve body.

    Yes, that's just for alignment.
