    i have a 2002 4t65e that is acting a bit strange.

when you take off from a stop sign it revs up in first then switches to second. As soon as it switches to second if you apply a little more gas, the tranny sounds like it shifts up to third and the rpms drop then within a second goes back down into second again. If i stop and start again but hold the gas pedal constant during the shift the tranny acts normal. Does anyone think i may have a bad TPS thats throwing the transmission off?

Doesn't sound TPS related to me. Seems internal to the transmission or the vehicle speed sensor doing some funky stuff. I'd wait for it to do it again and maybe scan for transmission codes before you shut the vehicle off. Could be slipping out of 3rd gear too.

well if i keep the pedal at a constant when its shifting from first to second, or any gear. it acts normal. it just acts weird when within a second of shifting from first to second if i give it more acceleration it feels as if it shifts briefly to third and then back to second. In my opinion there is no slipping but now im wondering if it is infact not a shift as the rpm drops that maybe the tc is locking up and then unlocking making the rpms briefly fluctuate down and then back up. I do not know.

If you accelerate faster, does it do the same thing? My 2-3 shift can be fast; slow acceration, shift 1-2, then 2-3 happens within seconds. If I have my foot into it a bit more, that quick 2-3 shift takes much longer.
