I'm stuck on this for quite a while now. I swapped a GOOD working motor and trans from my 99 Regal into an 87 Fiero. Ever since then I've been having some issues. The main issue now is when I put it into Drive or D3 it thinks it's in 3rd. When I put it into 2nd or 1st it goes into 2nd But never in first. In the DHP scanner, it shows the gear as being 1.
When I drive it it moves but not like a normal 1st gear would. When watching the scanner, the gear goes from 1-2 but I don't feel it shift so I know it's in 2nd gear all the time. When I move it from 2nd to d3 or drive, I can feel it shift into 3rd.
The trans is a 99 4t65E non-hd out of a Intrigue with a 3.5 DOHC motor. This trans was rebuilt 1k miles ago with a stock rebuild. All new solenoids, etc and worked perfectly for a year in the 99 LS I had it in.
I've already traced and re-traced the wires going to the PCM and power, ground,etc.They are all in the correct spot.
The tune I have it on it now is from a 98 GTP and I swapped the trans tables to 3.29 gears and that's it. I was getting p0705 switch circuit issues but figured that out and right now there are no codes.
Another note is that I can take the shift solenoids from the PCM,ground them and hear the actual shift solenoids clicking so they know they are working.
I've swapped physical PCM's. DIfferent tunes from different cars. No change.
Also swapped the trans switch as well.
I'm stuck. Any ideas or something else I can check?
