    So recently my transmission has been acting up. Occasionally when shifting from 1st to 2nd it takes a good while to engage and once it did not engage at all. The time it didn't at all, I went to tapshift and it wouldn't even show the gear. Speaking of tapshift, which I rarely use, it has made the car downshift very hard from 2nd to 1st gear.

    Only use that for upshifting. Never downshift these cars while driving.

    Have you serviced your transmission at all?

    next time it does it scan it with out turning the car off. good chance theres a pending code for the tranny. if its the max adapt shift code a shift kit is a good band aid, but in the end the tranny had just put you on notice to its plans to quit working.

    I meant to say when it downshift into first gear when coming to a stop.
    No, I have not serviced the trans, I have had the car about 6 months.
    Ill have to go acquire a scan tool

    are you shifting it to 1 st? or you mean its in drive and you feel it down shift hard all on its own?

    My car also slams kind of hard into first when coming to a stop, but that's only if I have to slam on the brakes.

    Just take it easy and see if the problem subsides. Try putting the shifter into the low gears and shifting manually, without TapShift and see if it shifts better.

    2002 Trans Am- 6 speed, bolt ons or something, it's slow.
    2006 Silverado- forged ls2, 4l80e, plate kit, also slow...

    Don't the Comp G's still have a 1 2 3 option on the shifter?
