Driving home last night the tranny started shifting funny. Hesitating to shift, shifting late. And by the time I got the car home I could smell the tranny from inside the car. Does this mean my tranny is toast?

Is there a puddle of tans fluid under your car?
The tranny fluid is red and smells like normal tranny fluid. It also looks like there might have been a puddle of something underneath the car. Possibly tranny fluid, not for sure. But if it is that's worrisome. I won't be able to check to fluid level until I can move the car into the driveway and out of the street.
My dad & I wiped the underside of the tranny and with the car running found that the leak is coming from this cover. My roomy tells me since the leak is coming from that area I might have a bad front pump seal or cracked torque converter. I'll probably have to take the motor and tranny out to be sure.
Could be the tc seal etc..
Ohkay cool. So when I do tear into the tranny I'll be checking the TC seal, input shaft seal, the tc itself. I'm open to any more suggestions on what else I should check. And thanks in advance to anyone who has or will offer any input.
Ended up taking the GXP to a tranny shop. They found the leaks and said they can fix it up. Problem is they also told me the tranny is pretty worn now and probably needs a rebuild. I think I might just have the leaks fixed and sell the car. =|
Ask specifically where is it leaking from
and
what did they find to justify a rebuild
