    2004 GP GTP - 170k - previous owner of 3 years never did anything with the transmission

    So, I thought my cat was clogged because every-time I wanted to accelerate any reasonable amount I'd get a bunch of white smoke out the back, and a sort of chug chug, and then after a fair amount of RPMS it'd kick in and, yeah. So, anyhow, I hit the cat a bunch with a board, took it for a drive and I'm not seeing any white smoke, but it's still doing the lagging of going anywhere and just kick in suddenly, but still not really go anywhere. And it kinda feels like it just doesn't want to shift and accelerate. Just not quite sure what to make of it, hoping the video can give an idea of what I'm talking about.

    Oh, and before the CEL would flash when doing this, however it doesn't anymore. And I took our Snap-On Diagnostic tool after it and I'm not getting any codes besides my supercharger solenoid and a P0300 misfire code in the history that's been there since I bought it, and there's no trans codes.... Also, there's some smoke drifting up from behind the engine, but I think that's just an exhaust leak.

    sounds like you need a cat and a tune up maybe.

    Fixed. It's the trans stick.

    Okay, that's what I was hoping for. Got exhaust and headers to go on it after school's done and the GT2 is fixed, then was gonna get new plugs and wires.

    i dont really see a slip, but that fluid looks dark for tranny fluid. if it feels like its acting up maybe a shift kit, new filter and a qt of trans medix will make it last longer.

    I was thinking of dropping the pan, a shift kit and new fluid anyhow.

    Looks like this just confirms I need to hurry up and fix all the crap wrong with the GTP, lol.
