    So I notice a lot of guys that end up breaking the forward apply band so they have to hold it in 1st then it will shift after that. I know what causes it, but I haven't seen anyone say how long they were able to run with said broken band, nor have I have heard anyone say if they also had the failure to engage/ slamming preceding this issue. So my questions are:

    Before the band drive thingy broke did you have issues with taking off and it banging into gear? If so how long was is before you lost forward without downshifting?

    When you lost forward and had to downshift, how long were you able to do this before you were stuck like Chuck?

    I am not sure as I have not run into this. I assume this means you are dealing with this issue? Going to dig into the trans yourself?

    I have the occasional take off and bang into gear but it's not that bad. I'm just curious if people had that first before they actually broke the apply band tang driver thingy had the slip bang first, and how long someone has limped the trans around by shifting to first and then taking off.
