    does a transmission from a 97 gtp bolt up to 04 gtp? im pretty sure it does since they kept the same block, but just want to have a definite answer before i spend the 300 bucks. thanks

    It will bolt up, but will not work. You need an 03 plus trans.

    yes................but you cant use it.


    97-02 are the same.

    03+ are differnt

    and you cant use a COMP-G tranny with the tap shift option.

    so you could put say a '99 GTP trans on a '00 GT? if i'm following right???

    GT trans is 4T65E 3.29 gear ratio

    GTP trans is 4T65E-HD 2.93 gear ratio


    you would have to custom tune the car to run it.

    if you want a manual you could get the trans from i believe a G6... don't quote me on that, but i am certain that GP's can be made manual

    04-08 4t65e Might be able to use an 03 not 100% on the 03 tho.

    shift kits are always good. Helps firm things up and makes it better.

    get a Trans-go shift kit, if you buy one, from tripleedgeperformance

    got one last ? here, my dads been a mechanic for 15-20 years and would hope he would help install, but hes to the point where if its not broke, dont fix it, so my question is, is it a difficult install?
