the earlier years had the bigger fans.
The later years had slim fans. That might be the difference there.

On my '04 I have about 1/8" clearance including the header wrap after the heat shield for the fan was removed. I don't know about later years having thinner units, but if it's the case it good because more clearance would definitely help.
I was referring to the 97-03 models, no idea on the 04+
ya mine is a 01 and has slim fand im guessing the 97 and 98 one had the big fans
i guess so. might include 99 as well.
Can someone please take some pictures, A million posts of SD SSAC Ebay headers, and not one single picture.. A list of everything needed extra for a complete install would be fantastic if added.. thanks.. I got my SD headers in, and they are sitting in my office, just waiting for the right time..lol
These aren't from my car, but I gathered them before I decided to get the speed daddy's. I'll have to take some pictures of mine too. $220 shipped is an awesome deal, especially when you consider they fit just like SLP, which go for about $700.
@ GTPINSCSo, where would the best place be to get some gaskits? WOuld these be available at Autozone or some local auto parts store. I really dont want to order online, I want to get these on, and the ordering just takes to much time.. thanks again.. Oh, and what Clamps? Where are these found as well? Already got some good RTV from ZZP when I ordered some other items.its been said before a few times... copper RTV, band clamps for joints, new gaskets...ones that are included suck.
Wrongway, thanks for the pictures..
get gaskets from dealership... get manifold gaskets and catback gasket. they arent that expensive. i got my clamps at napa for like 15-20 bucks each IIRC. i only band clamped the crossover and had slip fit pipe underneath welded. u will need 2 1/4 inch clamps. just ask for band clamps at napa they will know what u mean. theyre prob about 2 1/2 to 3 inches wide.i RTV'd joints.. then came back with a light coat of RTV over the area where clamp is mounted.
Thanks for all the help, got mine on a few days ago, not really any issues at all, they went in pretty good, and no leaks noted. I had a great person doing the work though. we did have to bend the tran dip stick, and place an o2 extention on the front sensor. the sensor is basically hitting the fire wall now though, the front bank has one header pipe within 1/8 or less of hitting the radiator.... Any suggestions? any questions? oh, I removed my cat, and egr
