not too long after i bought my 07 gt it has had a shaking in the steering wheel and throughout the car, mostly around 60-70 mph...they said it was radial runout on one of the tires and i shouldnt be concerned. i just replaced all 4 of my tires they were balanced correctly and the problem is still there and then some. i am concerned because my right front tire before replacing it looked like a dog chewed at it from the inside sidewall and about 2-3 inches into the tire. i do not understand why it would wear like that and also i am concerned if that is the reason for this problem. any ideas?

well the tire usually does this when it is on the rear too long without being rotated, maybe more extreme when you drive alot of freeway and it is left on the rear without being rotated. some say you can rotate them and it may help but the damage is done to the tire already. important question is were the tires you replaced them with new??? if they were new we can probobly rule them out. my next take would be to have someone inspect the tie rods inner and outer, most places do this service for free, the axle could be the culprit, they are important on cars and need to have balance. can you tell if its mainly on one side or the other???

yeah i just bought 4 brand new pilot sport all seasons because all of my tires were worn anyways.. idk which side it shakes on the whole car shakes and the steering wheel shakes a ton. I have had it looked at a few times by the dealer and two different mechanics and they cant figure it out.

You said you had an alignment done??? Did they give you a printout of the caster/camber/postive and negative toe adjustments made. They should have. Check that to see if they changed anything. Then also, like "mikedinthecity" said, have them check your tie rods but have them check your bushings in your sway bar and arm bushings. Sounds like the balance is off in the suspension. Doesnt surprise me about the tires. Even tire wear depends on proper suspension geometry.

First off, if the problem is that bad it shouldn’t be that hard to troubleshot! But I have had my share of bad mechanics. Based on all of what you have said, I know actually what I would do. Replace the right side half shaft. The mechanics probably discounted this because your car is fairly new. Look at it this way, a half shaft is about the price as a tire, so why not try it.
I also base this opinion on personally experience. The first sign a CV joint is going bad, is vibration around 60mph. Then after a month or two it will start to click on corners.

    Good Luck.
