Just picked up an 07 GT for something to keep the miles off my silverado going back and forth to work.
It's got a few issues, coolant elbows, vc gaskets, a wheel bearing going out, tie rod ect...
All of which I'm fully capable of diagnosing and repairing. There is one other issue that I'm having trouble nailing down though.
    Cruise control!
No cruise control on indicator on the dic when I press the button.
Brake lights work, switch on the column seems to be ok, not really sure how to test it.

    Any ideas?

I tried to do a search for the topic, but I wasnt able to get anywhere.

Check the grounds in the engine bay, that one on the strut tower next to the battery is my first suspect.

My cruise was very temperamental until I cleaned up that ground point, and then like magic, worked flawlessly.

Bad grounds can also mess with the magnasteer, ABS, radio, HVAC, lights, horn, the list goes on...

You say brake lights work, but does the high mount work?

Looks like a Cali emissions plug, for the air pump.

A bad brake light switch can cause the CC not to work, it will allow the brake lights to fully work but it can still be faulty and cause the CC not to work.

It's a cheap fix if it works, most are less than $15 bucks.

Well, a slight revelation on my way home from work. If I repeatedly press the button on the end of the turn signal switch to set the cruise, the light on the dash will, for a split second, illuminate and the dic flashes cruise control activated. But it won't stay on. So, I'm hopeful that the brake switch will be the fix.

    Just wanted to update.

The brake switch did not solve the problem. Ended up replacing the multifunction switch on the column. Fixed it! Local advance auto had the switch in stock, so I did site to store, 30% off got me the switch for about $50 aftet tax.

Thanks for all the input guys!
