My second catback has rusted out thanks to the Cleveland winters. The stock one lasted the longest. Then, I bought a used Dynomax from someone on another forum, and it lasted about 2 years. Not looking for performance here, just something quiet and inexpensive to get the car back on the road. I'd rather not do this again in 2 years -- so maybe a stainless system would be best?

My car is a DD. Not too high on the mileage, about 112k, but the rocker panels are starting to rust out, but very little noticeable body rust. I'm trying to get another 5 years out of this car.

Dynomax has a MIR right now. The exhaust is $412 from Amazon - $75 MIR = $337. But I'm concerned it'll rust out again.
ZZP has a stainless kit for $500. Wondering if spending a little more now will keep me from having to do this again in 2 years.

    Thoughts?

If the stock system lasted the longest why not just try and find another good used one and go with that? Heck, you could probably find one on car-part.com, or even a local craigslist add if someone is parting one out. IIRC the newer GP's exhaust may fit as well. Might want to double check that though to be sure.

Good idea on a used stocker. Wondering if Ed Morad has any. I'm very close to his shop.

Morad has a grand Prix is the shop, but the exhaust is shot. They have an 08 GXP coming in next week and the exhaust should bolt up, but has one extra hanger. I already ordered a new stainless kit from ZZP so I won't need it. Those GXPs have nice seats that bolt into older GPs. Someone jump in that.

Fordman, yep still have my 03 Cobra. A lot of fun on nice days.

Nothing too radical. Pulley, exhaust, intake, shifter. It's a show car, only 16k miles.

Very nice. My wife is from Parma. Will keep an eye out for ya when we visit Cleveland. Though with only 15k, I'd say my chances of seeing you on the road are up there with finding the elusive snipe.

Yea, the GXP seat swap is a great upgrade from what I've read. I have a full set of black leather w/ suede insert GXP seats sitting in my basement right now. Just accumulating parts before the teardown.

I used kits from these guys as well. I just sold my 2.5" kit to a local guy. I decided to keep my stock exhaust and add a e-cutout for a kewl idle sound and then to make it sound like complete shat at wot ;-)

04+ Gp seats are the upgrade, gxp means nothing but suede inserts over the normal leather. I prefer the normal leather over the suede myself but thats a matter of opinion, and I like the open style headrest better aswell. And the 06-08 seats are not black, just a darker grey than the 04-05 seats.

Drive up for it. Shipping is what kills the deal that they'll post. You're well within driving distance if you're in Lebanon. It's not a long drive, maybe 3 hours point to point. (I used to have friends that lived in Lebanon.)

Are you talking about the only leather 06+ seats not being black? I only ask because my cloth seats are black

Back on topic. I ordered and installed a ZPP 2.5" stainless catback. It sounds nice, but does not fit as well as I'd like it to. I was in a rush, but will have to finagle with it some more to get the tailpipes centered in the bumper cutouts.

Did any mods actually read the messages in here? I don't think it needed to be moved. I as looking for advice, not to buy something from another member.
