I have a home ported supercharger, I didn't do the port job. Got the blower with a pile of other stuff at the time. Snout has a 3.4 dub hub and pulley. I grab some pics today and look for those projectors.
Damn it sorry I'll do it tomorrow I promise.
I measured the pulley and it's actually a 3.1
Gen 5 makes a great ported gen 3 supercharger. I can set you up with a throttle body adapters for it.
Completely agree. The money you'd spend on porting would pay for a GenV. I've been lucky enough to grab a few gen Vs for about $200 each time but I wouldn't pay more than $250 shipped for one.
Then you should grab a North Star setup since the inlet on the gen v matches the tb.
N* for '00 deville: ~$30 on eBay
Lq4 maf 03 Silverado: ~$25+ on eBay
Sseilmnop n* to genv adapter: $75 (I think)
Throttle cable bracket: $25 zzp
Tps adapter: $15 zzp
Maf/iat adapter: $20 zzp
Plus zzp shipping.
Or get the pig tails for the maf and tps and you can solder them in for free, and there is a way to make your own bracket just can think of what exactly you do but. That's $130-190 for a n*, that's what I paid, already had a n* to for a while back. $330 with gen v, you'll be paying more than that for the ported gen 3 shipped. Inlet/outlet porting from wbodystore is $360 plus shipping, no core charge. And the inlet porting pointless if you don't run a north star anyways.

But I just got a rebuilt gen 3 snout so I'm kind of commited to a gen 3 plus the gen 5 would cost me even more because then I'd have to go through the trouble of getting a pulley puller again and then I'd have to go buy a 3.6 pulley since I couldn't use my current one. There's a lot of extra stuff that comes with a gen 5 and it adds up pretty quick. Imo

Let me ask this though I'm on a 3.5 setup right now. I could probably drop to a 3.4 but it's more cost effective to run a couple degrees of timing more then to buy a pulley for 60$ and run .1 size smaller. But are there even any gains going to a Northstar on a 3.5 or 3.4 setup

ported gen 3 really not letting you pulley drop, its just noise, ive not even ported my gen 3. dont see the point.
the n* your not needing it if you get my drift. all you'll get is a faster throttle response and a couple hundred dollars less in the bank.
