I want to try and fix the cracks on the upper trim panel, where the defroster vent is located. I was able to lift it(It seems like the previous owner broke the clips) but there seems to be foam tape preventing me from removing it further. Should I just yank it to remove it? I wash planning to glue it back together than possibly vinyl wrapping it.

I took some pics of what I am talking about:

Honestly it's probably very brittle.. Most crack. For $80 or so it's worth just getting a brand new one that will last you awhile.

Yeah, it is super brittle...If I can't get it out in 2 or 3 pieces I will buy a new one.

Would this be good for wrapping that panel? Never used vinyl wrap before.

I figured the vinyl wrap would smooth out the defects and keep it in one piece.

Bringing this one back with question for OP

Did it just pop out like any other trim piece, no screws just clips?

Yup just pops out like the rest of the trim panels. It's usually pretty damn brittle and tends to crack when you do.

So the entire upper dash trim (no HUD type) just pulls off from clips, similarly to the radio bezel? No bolts or anything...just pull up on it?
