i want to do a seat swap from a 04+ Grand Prix into my 99 4-door GT, has anyone did this before and have pictures? Some say it's a direct bolt but is that for sure true? If I do go through with this I'll be writing up a complete write up of how to do it because after lots of searching I've found im not the only one who wants to do this.

Yep, can be done. If you can find it, go for the GXP seats. They have a complete fold down rear (not just a pass-through) and some of them have a passenger front seat that folds flat. I have a complete 06 GXP interior waiting for my 00GPGT right now.

make sure you take both sides of the plugs to the new seats. you'll need to cut and solder the new plugs to your car.

theres how to's done already with how to wire it too. search for it.

search is dead top middle of the page, its kinda hidden. or use google and add forum:grandprixforums.net to the search.

All 04+ has the complete fold down rear. I am not sure if all 04+ has the fold flat passenger seat, but my 07 has it.

All 04+ leather and cloth have the 60/40 fold down rear, 03 was the last year for the pass thru rear.
The fold down passenger seat was an option for the 04+ cars if you chose leather.

Wait a minute... Since the 04+ GPs were never coupes, How would the 04+ seats work in a 97-03 coupe? The driver side seats in the 04+ don't fold down...

The "fold down" option we were talking about is a fold flat, not like your normal coupe seat.

front seats will bolt in fine, and like mentioned get both sides of the seat plugs, also swap your old seat belt buckles to new seats, some work, some dont, mine didnt so better safe than pulling seats a second time. get another heated seat switch from a 97-03 and cut in along with your current switch and then glue the switch sides together so you can run dual heated seats and keep the switches looking like they belong there. rear will fit fine but will not bolt/snap in place. the rear upper i used sheet metal screws along sides and top to hold the seat frame in place that way it still folded fine. for the back bottom seat the back will line up with your mounts so you can just bolt them in. but the snap clips in the front wont so you can A) break snap clip off of new seat or you can B) cut your floor pan so the new seat clips will fit. i did a little of both. btw my swap was 05 leather to 2001 gtp
