I'll be watching this as well cause I am curious. Ive stayed away from them because early reports were they didnt last very long. So I'll watch for the replies here and see what shakes out.
They are awesome, the best bulbs I have used by far. I hated the regular silverstars also, so I have no unfair bias towards them. Defenitely worth the money inmho. I am using them for lo/hi/fogs.

I worked it out so I get a discount so I may pick up a set soon
I've had them in my headlights for over a year and they haven't burned out, but they don't last that long in the foglights.
my fogs only last about 6 months around here before something in the road hit them (gotta love an area where trucks don't have to secure anything)
i had em. A slight tad brighter than reg silverstars. But last longer.
Had em in my car for a whole 2 weeks gave in and ordered hids.
So is the consensus the Silverstar Ultras work a little better but are brighter as well?
guess brighter was not the best word.
They suppose to have a longer beam pattern. Which when i installed them i had a reg ST on driver and a Ultra on the passenger. Looking head on from in the car only difference was the width of the beam does throw out a smaller about of side light. That is about it. I ended up selling mine and spent 80 buxs on hids.
$80 on HIDS! Where?
Good info, guess I may have to consider doing this after all if its that inexpensive.
you lucky you got 6 months on the fog lights...mine only lasted 2 weeks before one blew, replaced it, then the other blew then replaced it..and so on, and so one. and no...I am very cautious when I put them in not to touch the bulb.
the hed lights are super bright and have been in for over 2 years with no problems...then I upgraded to HID's....world of difference.
I'd be a little iffy on the ebay kits....
i had the silverstar ultras for about 6 months they worked great were better then stock, but then i switched to HID's.it was worth the cost for HID's.
I have them in my head lights and they are very awsome. I put them in my fog lights and they burned out every month I dont know why they dont last in the fog lights, but they are great in the head lights.
in reality....The silver stars we see here in America are not the REAL silver stars. The real silver stars are made in Germany produced by Osram they look like regular bulbs and do not have a coating on them.
If you want the most usable light out side hids. you want to go with something like GE Nighhawks, or osrams new bight breaker. Ya they dont give you the blue tint but instead you get more usable light on the road
