HIDs in the high beams on 04+ is useless because the bulbs wouldn't be warm enough to be useful if you wanted to flash them as example. It's pretty easy install just plug and play. The color depends on what you want, better useable light or the color. Are you housings all foggy and cracked?

1) 6k would be your best bet for a slight blue. Normally I stick with either 4300 or 5k but since you want that blue tint, 6k is your best bet.

2) Better run a relay harness to avoid messing up your electrical system.

3) simple pnp

Running a hid kit for the high is unnecessary. They need time to warm up and by the time you use the highs it'll be pretty useless just stick to a halogen in there not to mention the added stress of running 3 hid systems.


I won't go into to much detail on how bad hids are in reflector based headlights but please for the love of god make sure you aim the headlights correctly so your not glaring oncoming traffic to bad.

I never used my highs again after I went the hid route years ago if that tells you anything. Try just the lows and fogs first then decide if the highs are still needed.

I don't know much about halogen bulbs but you should be able to find some decent ones for you highs.

Even if aimed properly, you will blind people. Also the fogs will blind everyone from a mile away

Just an FYI I have 6k and are much brighter than stock...I also adjusted headlight angle so they don't blind on coming drivers

4300-5000 give the whitest most usable light, after that they get more blue. Most HIDs will shift color over time (especially cheap ones) so go lower kalvin. From 4300 to 6000k you lose about 300 lumens. And you may have them aimed straight to the ground, but I guarantee your pnp HIDs are obnoxious to other drivers

Funny cause I've been driving another vehicle headed home and my mom took my car and I passed her....and I swear the lights didnt blind or annoy me

I'm not subjective to it because its my car. I have seen others that weren't bothering because they were done right. Sorry that what I think isn't fun*king good enough but its my opinion. You may know a lot or u may think u do..and I'm not saying everything I say is right...but I know I've seen other HIDs that aren't blinding or annoying

But OP, sorry for derailing your topic. I'm not saying that HIDs are a bad idea but they scatter bright light everywhere and if it happens to be raining or foggy you won't have really any better light on the road. The only lights that should have them is lows, because the highs would fail sooner from being turned on and off more often, and fogs don't go out very far so it is just added foreground light and that isn't where you want light. So with just getting lows you could get your HIDs from theretrofitsource.com and it will be a quality lasting product. Error eliminator won't be needed. 55w will fail sooner than 35w, so another reason to do 35w. The install will be pretty easy, just finding points to ground the relay harness to is the only thing that takes real thought

They are a bad idea. Get some good 9006s for the lows, or HIRs. Don't blind people. Your car will look like a ricer. Even if you aim them down to not blind people, you'll blind yourself with the foreground if you go anywhere that is truly dark, IE no city lights.

Don't buy into the HID bandwagon.

Or retrofit projectors. If you have hazy/dark headlights then get new assemblies and bulbs, because bulbs will dim over their life

HID's in a halogen capsule have glare. No ifs ands or butts.

It may seem different to some, but that depends on heights and angles.

I've had HID's in stock housing for almost 10 years now; I get the odd flash. I just flash them back. They should be thankful that I am in a lowered car rather than a lifted truck.

Haha, knock on wood, my friend got stopped for having too green of bulbs in the fogs but his were pretty darn yellow. And the 97-03s have awful stock lights so that's why they don't notice
