i bought a 2000 grand prix a few days ago that came with a WS6 (i think its a WS6 lol) i went to look at the HID wiring to find out why my "Brights" indicator stays on when ever my headlights are on and both hood struts broke then i realized the hinges on the hood are VERY loose. i tried to align and tighten them for over 2 hours and couldnt get it to align properly...a little bit forward and it wont latch, a little bit back and it hit the wipers -.- anyone have any useful tips on aligning a hood!? in order to get it to shut and latch i have it a little loose so it can work it self shut and the back of the hood, near the windshild, is raised a bit. im afraid of scratching the hood and fenders by keeping it like this. any suggestions or tips on how i could get this hood to line up right? i should also mention the guy who owned it before me (wont admit it) hit something or got hit on the driver side front fender which caused the front apron to be swayed a bit, but the fenders, lights, and bumper all line up, thanks in advanced for any help!!

here is some pics of it closed

That is an F1 hood if I'm not badly mistaken.
As far as aligning it goes, be sure the radiator support isn't bent.

^Yup F1 hood. As far as aligning... I have no idea. Last time I did it, it was horrible. Only way I knew was to raise and adjust, lower and inspect, raise and adjust, lower and inspect.... repeat for 5 hours.

^^^^ This and also you may never get a perfect alignment. Being its an aftermarket hood a lot of times the cheaper ones never line up perfectly

Thanks guys! In all honesty I wasn't trying that hard and I was by myself lol. I imagine it'd be easier with more than one person...and luckily I have family coming over for thanksgiving tomorrow, looks like one poor uncle or cousin is going to have a boring day with me in the garage!! Haha

Yup, when I just put my hood on I tightened the bolts just enough where I could move and adjust, and while holding with my shoulder/head I'd tighten till I thought it was right. Then close and look at the headlights and fender line gaps. I just tried to make it as equal as possible, but like others said, it's not going to be perfect! Happy thanksgiving from the d!

I had the body shop guy that painted my f1 hood install it and align it. It came out 100% perfect, took him about 20 min. He had to loosen the hood latch from the core support and adjust that too.

you have a cheap aftermarket front bumper cover too. The whole front end of the car has probably been busted up and could be tweaked.

He painted it for me on trade for my sub setup and I took the stock hood off and drove over there and he installed it as part of the deal

Doesn't fit the car because it doesn't belong on a Grand Prix.

It's trying to tell you something...
