i did mine. just did a ton of light coats. they came out alright, but nothing like they would have if i had a real spray gun and quality clear coat. i think its worth the $50 or whatever that the guys with the actual equipment are charging.

I have a question for you guys with the night shades. How much does it diminish your brake light visibility?

it really doesnt that much. if you spray the hell out of it, your output will go down. but then again, your tails will be almost pitch black.

do it like this: spray a coat, let dry, spray, dry, spray, dry. then pick it up and look at it in the sun/light. thatll give you a better idea of how dark it really is. you can get pretty freakin dark before you wont be able to see the running/brake lights.

Alright, that helps out tremendously. I guess I need to buy me a spare set of tail lights and do a set and then if I dont like it, sell them.

I've tinted a few sets of tail lights for various MACGP members. It's pretty simple to do. I did mine on my old 97 GT. I think it looked pretty damn good

The one and only real guy who was doing these professionally was charging $100.00 and they look damn nice and well worth every penny. I have seen the DIY ones and they look ok, but get these from her car next to one from a rattle can, and its night and day difference.

The GF has a set on her GP and when the sun is shining on them, and she has her brakes on, you cannot see the stop lights at all. Night time, no problem...though they are dark, they still shine though. Back up lights and tinted windows is another thing to consider too. Lucky, every time she has ever needed to back up, there was always some parking lot/drive way additional light present at night.

But when driving in a caravan...its tough to tell if they are on or not...you have to really watch the 3rd brake light in the rear window more than anything, but she had that kinda covered with a white Oakley "O" I painted for her.

I was kinda afraid of this. My concern would be that the diminished light output would be harder to see by other drivers particularly in adverse weather conditions like fog.

Maybe Im just bing overly paranoid too, who knows. I like the looks of them Id just be concerned some goober would plow into me and claim he couldnt see my brake lights.
