I have a 2005 GT that is one of our family, commuter cars (around 125k miles). I want to clean it up and maybe do a few mods. I don't want to spend a ton of money. Here is a list of things I tentatively plan on doing:
1. Vacuum entire car
2. Clean carpets with carpet cleaner. We have a Bissel upright carpet cleaner that I plan on using. The carpets have never been cleaned so they really need it.
3. Buy new floor mats. The mats are original and the driver side has a hole starting.
4. Clean dash, seats (leather) and all other vinyl/leather. Any suggestions on best product to use to clean?
5. Protect dash, seats (leather) and all other vinyl/leather. In the past I've used Lexol (brown bottle) on leather. Any suggestions?
6. Clean windows. Not sure of best product....in the past just used Windex.
7. Change out radio. The radio is stock and does not have auxilary inputs. Would like something that can hook I-pod and Samsung Galaxy III into. Also display lights are burned out. Any suggestions on good radio under $100? I would love back-up camera and/or navigation (would be willing to pay more) but I don't think such a radio would fit.
8. Really tired of red display lights but from my research, changing out is really difficult. Any ideas?
9. Possibly change interior lights to LEDs. Anyone have pics of what this would look like?
10. Steering wheel doesn't look the greatest. Black vinyl coating is peeling off and silver plastic looks dirty. Any suggestions?
11. Clean headliner. Not sure how to do this as I know I don't want to get it wet as it might sag.
Am I missing anything?
Thanks in advance!
