In my car it looks like I have water leaking from under the glove box. I had my mechanic do a spray test by spraying water over the car. The drains where the Windshield is had water directly poured in and no water leaks. However I do have a small leak in regards to the top passenger side door insulator.

Water collects on the passenger side floorboard when it rains. I tried taking the plastic shield that the windshield wipers are attached to off. However I can not get those stupid screws off. Plus my mechanic said the leak probably isn't in the crowl anyways. At the same time though how can a door leak cause water to drip from bottom of glove box. n

Now I have a mildew smell in the car and very possible damage to floor and possibly blower motor .

^^^ I did this 2 summers ago and it's still working perfectly. I drove to my local GM dealership and luckily they had it in stock and was only like $10 or something dirt cheap. Takes about 5 minutes to install.

It was actually a piece of plastic that was supposed to direct water into the drain tube. The piece of plastic was corroded and letting water get thourgh from under the windshield. My mechanic just cut a piece of sheet metal and used that to direct the water into the drain tube. Works Great, thanks everybody for their input.

Try to take off the front cover again, under it you will see a cabin filter on the right side take the filter out and check to see it the rubber seal around it is in place or worn. If not seated right this will cause water to come in on the passenger side floor.

the cabin air filter seals nothing, its the cowl that leaks into the air filter, when the cowl leaks the air filter will get soaked and then stink like mildew.

if you have a filter, most GP's dont, its more a regal thing.

from what ive read, the air filter part # is for a regal, not a grand prix. the GP has the spot to put it but either they didnt get one, or its been removed. the 04 ups may have gotten them. the 97-03 should be the ones lacking it.

I've got an 02 GP and there's no filter.

Wait, so can I put one in? I didn't look at it very close when I had it open.

you ask for a regal cabin filter, it slides in the slotted grove, it will cover the area where you can see the squirrel cage fan.
