    Here's the story
    Sister bought a Gtp...
    replace transmission...
some other stuff but severly dogged the car out, engine caught fire and the car sat,
    -car got hit in apartments
    -car sat
    -car got hit again
    -car sat
-she had random people do random things to the car
    -car sat

she offered the car to me and i took it got the engine fire thing repaired and had my brother drive the car from houston to new orleans...

figured this could be my project car...

now I am shaking my head but i'm headlong into getting this car to daily pimp mobile status...

so consider this my project post that i will update with pics as i post...all pictures will either come from my iphone or my blackberry which everone is working at the time so excuse the quality...

....I know its a long list but here's what i have done already

    new headlights-broke one though!
-were straight forward i used the side marker wiring trick to make the halo's work
-used a metal zip tie to secure the light in the proper position...

    changed speakers and tweets
    $40 ebay blauplaukt sp?
-i'm not picky as long as they sound good and i get a good deal
-tore up the driver's side door panel trying to get the panel off

    new exhaust
-wanted exhaust repaired but ended up getting a new exhaust custom fabbed in shop
cost me $500 and about 40 minutes
-couldn't decide on tips so i let the shop guy pick

    new struts installed
cost me $300 for parts all 4 wheels and 280 for labor

    added radio...
-about $150 circuit city installed my radio but it doesn't shut off when i open the drivers door, when all the other doors open it shuts off but not mine...wtf? (i'll ask in the audio section as well)
-then when I took the bezel off tho get to the gauges i noticed that the damed mounting kit was broken...ordered a mounting kit from HUmount and I am impatiently waiting for that to arrive

added reverse glow gauges to dash cluster...
-wired them up to the interior light fuse but they do not turn off when the car is shut off hell they don't turn off at all...
-I have to find an intermittent connection, got some searching and reading to do...any reccomendations?
-also the needles are incorrectly positioned what are the best was to get them positioned?

also found that my passenger side cv shaft is gone, passenger side wheel bearing is broken,
so i'll update the list of mods...

****PICTURES**** these are recycled from my intro post

notice how in one of the pics the bumper is hanging off well i put a couple screws in to hold it up and it's holding like a champ until i get that new front bumper cover

and also i used to scrape the bottom of my exhaust coming out of my drive way but not any more with the new more sturdy set-up,
and also with the new struts i am sitting higher than before which is to be expected... and i am about to test if i scrape the front backing out the drive way now

yeah you did read turbo but there is not one it's only a supercharger...
I was using those names interchangably...

    ****Update****

wired reverse indiglo glow gauges to radio fuse no they turn off when the radio turns off and on...
got the new wheel bearing and cv joints installed...

got the new door panels from the junkyard for $100...

ordered the window regulators and motors from ebay for the back two windows...

HUmount arrived today, but I used a metra kit from autozone and that sucka sits flush!!! but i had to leave out one screw though to get it to sit right...

new brakes and rotors installed on the front where they were really bad...

new window switch installed inside new door panel...

new dogbones came in but i ddin't buy the inserts so now i gotta get them...

installed new 6x9's and 4"'s why couldn't i find that i had to take out the entire rear seat to get to the damned panel... but after that it was cool and easy install...I hate the way they sound right now but I'll change them out later...

and after seeing the effect of the gauges in the car i don't want to change the rest of the lights to blue because it looks as good as sh*&^ right now...

now all i have to do is:

    install new turbo and radiator
    Paint Job/Body work/ including bumpers
    New sub and amp
    Replace shifter
    fix A/C
    paint calipers
    new torque mount inserts
    new motor mounts
find and repair power steering leak
replace window regulators and motors on 3 in-op windows
    do something about tail lights
get pieces to make steering wheel radio controls work
    new steering wheel radio controls
    new front passenger window switch
    steam clean engine

i'll get pics up when the sun comes up!!!

    *****pics for previous post*****

for future references i don't know that much about cars, my goal is to put together a car that will be distinctively mine and something that i could cherish as such for the forseeable future...

I know now that the super charger and turbo isn't the same thing...

and I will clean everything as soon as the issues get finished...

    but what is the blower?

since my HuMOunt.com mount came in i decided to install it...

I was about to wire the amp up myself when i looked for a hole inside the firewall on the drivers side to get the wire through but i couldn't find one, then i noticed that the battery was on the passenger side of the vehicle,
i was like good to go I'll just let best buy install the damned amp and since i am going there i might as well let them install a new remote start/alarm system in the car as well...

one of my engine issues was that the car was idling way too high so after a bit of forum searching i narrowed it down to a faulty TPS or IAC, went to auto zone had it scanned and it was a faulty IAC but they called it a faulty idle control switch and when you look that up they were like they don't have it, i gambled on this one after reading the forum i said the damn thing must be the idle air control valve, then i called another autozone about 2 miles from the first one and they had the part 31.99 and an oil change later she was idling like a dream...

now all i have to do is:

    install new SUPERCHARGER and radiator
    Paint Job/Body work/ including bumpers
    New sub and amp
    Replace shifter
    fix A/C
    paint calipers
    new torque mount inserts
    new motor mounts
find and repair power steering leak
replace window regulators and motors on 2 in-op windows
    do something about tail lights
get pieces to make steering wheel radio controls work
    new steering wheel radio controls
    steam clean engine

    *****MY CAR CAUGHT ON FIRE!!!!*****

    This is what happened...

from earlier post i stated that i changed the rear speakers out, and replaced them with some temporary 6x9"s and some permanent 4"s...

turns out after installing the speakers and re-installing the dash and the insulating mat, I didn't lay the mat down properly as part of the mat was laying on the light bulbs for the 3rd brake light and it caused a fire...

This is how i noticed the fire...

I had never driven the car for as long as i had on this day I did all of my errands in the car for the first time ever so i was driving the car to and fro for about 4 hours
I was travelling to the mall just to enjoy the sounds of the muffler and radio and also to pick up a gift for my cousin's b-day party and get me and my god-son some gear to wear to the party...

I was searching for a good parking spot when i noticed a smoke smell, I had the windows down and i didn't see anything in the car smoking and just thought that it was outside, I found a parking spot on the top level and got out of the car, i still smelled smoke and looked around quickly but i didn't see anything I just thought that some thing was on fire somewhere...

I got something to eat and shopped and on my way out i got a refill on some root beer and I made my way to the car, I got to the car and i didn't smell anything until i opened up the door,

the car was full of smoke!!!

I immediately thought that it was the reverse glo gauges since that was the only thing remotley electrical that i had worked on and i just thought that the gauges were smoke-checked(burnt out)...

I ripped the glove box out to get to the fuse cluster but there was no smoke...

i took a second and thought where could this be coming from?

    I popped the hood...

    no smoke

I opened up all the car doors...

    no smoke

I looked at the back dash and I could see a small plume of smoke coming from the speaker trim panel...

I popped the trunk and immediately checked and disconnected the speakers on the passenger side...

    still smoke

I then take another second to think about what the hell could be causing the smoke, and then while I am looking at the smoke plume, it bursts into flames!!!

thinking quickly i take the drink that i had just refilled and douse the flame out...

i then go to the trunk and I pull the light bulbs and it looks like i found the problem i disconnect the bulbs from the harnesses and then rip the dash carpet so i could see the brake light housing, good thing i did because it melted and the carpet was still smoking...

i rip the carpet and insulation out, throw the bulbs in the trunk, close all the doors, close the hood and the trunk, I drink my drink the rest of it anyways, take a breath and drive off...

glad to hear it's coming along. just to help you out if you pull back your carpet on the passenger side there is a grommet in between the passenger side and center of the car roughly behind the radio (if you need pics i can post em) that you can run the amp wire through.
