I have a 2006 GXP and my reverse light assembly is really opaque. Is there any way of cleaning it or not? Would a headlight restorer kit also clean it up a bit or it has no chance?

Just polish it, mine only needed one pass of polish with a porter cable to make it nice and clear

If you tint the reverse bar, leave the reverse light squares clear or you'll need some damn bright reverse lights.

I used one coat for my reverse bar still stock lights and can see fine if you just want to get the oxidation I recommend wet sanding with 1000grit and then 2000 then clear coat

I actually ended cleaning it up really well. I had one of those kits for headlight restoration that came with a piece for the drill. I used that on some meguiars compound, and it looks new. I topped it off with some speed wax and it was good to go.
