Yesterday my aunt had an emergency and asked me to take her cat for the week. I heard that cats don't like being in cars. That was a huge understatement. Being a spur of the moment thing, i didn't have a carrier or anything so the cat was basically running amuck while i was trying to drive. It crawled everywhere while i was driving... Dashboard, back window, under the seats, by the pedals, on the headrest meowing the entire time. It ended up putting about 3-4 cups of pee in the passenger seat while i was on the freeway and crapping on the floor in the backseat. I was on the freeway when it peed and i didnt have anything to get it up with. By the time i got to the gas station to wipe it up it had all soaked into the leather seat. When i got home i wiped it up but that was pointless since most of it was below the surface. I didn't know what else to do so i poured a bunch of 409 into the seat to let it soak in and hoped for the best. Any ideas. Yesterday the pee didn't really smell at all, luckily it was a girl cat. I can only imagine how horrible its going to smell in the summer when the car sits in the sun. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

WoW that is for sure going to be an interesting smell after the first few times the sun hits it and the windows have been up ALL day.

Make sure you have a bottle of febreeze handy. I do know that someone makes some stuff to take away the pet urine odor but cant recall who it is made by, but I think its made more for carpets.

mix baking soda and ammonia into a spray bottle. it will kill the stain and leave the ammonia smell. then just clean the leather with a good leather cleaner. problem solved.

I can't believe that you allowed that. I mean, cat pee is harder to get out of upholstery than off of someone's windshield. It even eventually wears off the tire.
