I think another issue was size. The HID projectors were larger, and they were having trouble fitting them into a professional looking assembly with the separate high beam.

For those worried about light output, H1 bulbs are still higher output than 9007 (1550 vs 1000), and should be much better focused than our stock headlights.

Update: Apparently the company that's producing these is "waiting on parts." I assume that means they might not be ready by the end of January.

If anything...I'll buy and run the $80.00 plug and play HID kits you can buy off ebay. Many have them, and almost everyone loves them. As it sits now, my fog lights (blazertech3200 driving lights) are my head lights.

I want to go the hid route but my problem is that my headlights are so pitted and yellowed I'm not sure that I can bring them back to life which means I'm gonna have to spend some money on replacements off of ebay plus the hid kit plus bazertechs. Add it all up and I'm still spending to much of my mod budget on lighting. Hopefully i can salvage my stockers.

My stock ones were just pain nasty. I got a new set that were GM's for Christmas on year, and wow, night and day difference on the light output from just a stock bulb that came with them. For real...if yours are yellow, pitted, and just pain aged...replace them, and you will be like damn!

X2 It will really surprise you how much better you can see. I replaced mine and it made one heck of a difference.

You can always buy the Bosch Projectors online for $99 for a pair brand new, and just retrofit them into your aging stock capsules... Then buy the el-cheapo hid-kit online, just so you can use the ballasts/ignitors, then cut the ends off, and buy regular D2S HID bulbs from somewhere....

The light output will be light-years better than any other setup for your car. I used to have Catz Hids in my stock capsules... When I first got them I was like, "nice...." But then I realized I still couldn't see crap at night, especially if it was raining. In fact my wife kept yelling at me to turn the headlights on, even tho they were on....

After I retro-ed Projector HIDs, I was like

That's what I will probably do but I figure I should at least try and see what some wet sanding and polish can do before i buy new ones.

I can really respect how you guys can pursue with zeal and unrelenting force(? am i making sense?) for products that have been in the making for as long and delayed as our lights.. if it was me, personally, i'd have thrown in the towel. good to see you guys are optimistic.. so here's the reward for that optimism.. but word to the wise, take this as a grain of salt, because these are just words from my boss..

Estimated time until finish of production; Mid-February
Estimated time until we receive our first unit; End of February

If he's accurate in the finish of production, i'd predict seeing first unit early march..
but I'm guessing he's being optimistic too?

Again, i'm going to say to you all.. take this as a very estimated-estimate..

    Good luck.

    -John

So, it looks like it will be just a little bit longer
