Alright so here's the deal. I've always liked the aluminum grilles that you can get for like over $100 for the car. I happened to stumble across these out in the milkhouse so I figured I would attempt to make a set. I've made the gutter guard grilles back in the day and they were fun for a while but they didn't look like the legit ones at all. These have potential. I will clean them up and try to make them shiney and then maybe clear coat them or something to prevent oxidation. IF you had to pick one which would it be.

#2 (the thing that worries me about this is that it might not let enough air in to cool the engine. What do you guys think?

Now I know some of you won't like this idea one bit and would prefer that the grilles be black but I'm going this route because I will be trying a new theme with the car and this fits it. (Not going to reveal any more plans at this point in time)

Its mostly red paint on it I think. At least the one side was. It comes off super easy too.

I'd go with top one, its going to let more air get to your radiator too.

But my facias are black so you wouldn't be able to see the lower ones.

Yea. I figured that the 2nd one would be way to restrictive.

Sand them down, start with like 400 grit and work your way up 600,800, 1000 then mothers aluminum polish, if its aluminum. however that really looks like rust and aluminum doesnt rust.... so if its stainless steel wool then a metal polish. if its chrome.... its beyond gone will need to be rechromed

Okay. Thanks. I don't think its chrome and your right there is some rust so it's not aluminum. It's just some sort of metal that my great grandpa had used to prevent animals from living under the house.

if you think either of those grills are going to block airflow then you're high.

The gp forces air from the bottom of the car up to cool the engine

You can also just have someone chrome them if they don't come back
