Has anyone ever though about turning their center console into a cooler? I had the insert out the other day for whatever reason and while i was looking at my fuses i noticed a waterbottle fit perfect in there and theres probably room for another. I was wondering if there is a gap between the bottom of the console and body. I was thinking you could drill a hole and put a rubber grommet in and some sort of stopper to drain the melted ice. let me know what your ideas are on this

Btw it will also hold 9 12oz cans without ice

Certain Lexus models have mini fridges built into the center consoles. Maybe find one in the junk yard and adapter it to your center console.

I did once on a long road trip. I just used a plastic liner that could just be pulled out without having to drain the water. It would definitely need to be something well insulated though. Because it gets pretty hot in there with the exhaust running right below it.

03 GTP...Its got pulleys and stuff.

i think the mini fridge might be too much i want to still be able to put the insert back in when im not using it as a cooler. i'm sure people have taken there center console out. would anyone be able to tell me if the plastic is right against the body or if there is a gap? and i kinda forgot about the heat. ill think on that part

if its not something you plan on using all the time, then why not just pack a small cooler with some ice packs for the trip. and put it in the back seat?
