Preferred way is to remove them, disassemble, sand, use etching primer and high temperature paint on top of that. But you can use those g2 or other caliper painting kits that come with a brush. Its a thick paint and if you do a good job taping up the rest, you can paint them w/o removing them.

i did a f body up grade, so i had the fonts off and waiting to go on, cleaned em up and sprayed them with vht caliper paint i think it was, did 3 or 4 coats on the fronts, had enough left to do the rears as well. ( 1 can did all 4 calipers) but the rears i took them off and hung them in the wheel well with bungee cords, and masked off the wheel well with news paper. both came out real good.

taking them off is the easiest way to do a good job, only bad part is you need to let them sit for a day to dry real good. then put them back on the car.

dont let any brake fluid touch the paint or it will eat it right off the caliper. if you take them off, use a old short vac line on the bleeder nipple to a old soda bottle to catch the brake fluid being bled out.

i put my box wrench on the bleeder, then the vac tube.

I painted mine on the car a year and a half ago with vht's caliper paint. It's rated up to 900° F. Mine when washed and wiped clean look like I just painted them. I unhooked them from the brackets and hung them off the springs to paint.

dont forget, you can paint the caliper bracket a different color as well, my fronts are black, the caliper is red, the rears are all red. had no time to mix things up, and the rears are hard to even tell they have a caliper bracket, as they be so small.

    on a black car.

    front with black bracket.

I spray painted mine with some paint my buddy gave me it matched my ext color almost exact. There is no need for the high temp paint as long as you prep it right.

I had to swap out my front rotors last month, so I.....

    - cleaned the calipers with brake clean
    - hung them from the coils with bungee cords
    - put cardboard between caliper and rest of stuff that doesn't want paint
    - sprayed two coats
    - put calipers back in place once dry
    - one last coat to include the caliper bracket

I also masked and painted the hats of the rotors a few days prior.
