AED was awesome during the body kit phase...
I have never seen a body kit for a grand prix 97-2003 that looked good and that didnt detract from the original look...grand Prix's look great By design .....now that 2004+ grand prix inferno kit is hot ****...it completely stays true to car but adds more aggressiveness
I don't mind the SD Air dam/SD Hood/SD Wing with some roof rails, and a drop.
But dear christ, it's not a Civic.
yeah the inferno kit is sick. thats the only body kit i would ever buy.
omg so absolutely no hate but with material like this threads name I gotta throw a punch or two we will try to keep it above the belt
It's the hello kitty GM project
I joined the riceburner club convincing them it was actually a tricked out acura
now all I need is two canister exhausts and I'm ready to adopt my first wife
ok ok thats all I got
pics of project if you put em on please and to each his own
The problem with body kits is that they all look the same. There is 3 styles that is copied over And over again on each platform. So the same "invader" bumper on a civic is copied to a bumper for a gran prix and for an eclipse etc...
When AED was doing this , they specialized just in Pontiac alone. Im surprised no one mentioned this. They made custom kits for the grand am and for the grand prix and gto. They made rib delete panels for the grand am. They had the first corvette powered turbo RWD grand am too. I hated the 8ft spoiler but the bumpers followed the same lines just exaggerated them a bit to give it a lower look.

It was a very 2002 thing to do
close this thread.
Why? Cause it isn't cool to talk about a trend from over 10 years ago? Lol.
Honestly anyone doing a body kit NOW would really need a good reason. Again all the kits look the same. Unless it was something made for that car.
AED at least mentioned here.
I was one of the first that deleted the ribs on the Grand Am. It was just double sided tape and we started the "craze" before GM finally changed up the design and deleted it. Infact I remember when AED first started. Everyone ooed and awwwd over the kit for the GA.
^ This. ^
There are multiple reasons to NOT put on on these cars. Mainly you don't need it with what Nick just said.
Aside from it being ugly, consider this.
As stated for $400 the fabrication is going to be HELLA FAIL. It won't fit worth a dam and to get it to you will most likely double the amount in labor alone, then it has to be painted. $$$ < prepare to break your wallet.
Also, incase you have NEVER had a car with a fiberglass front bumper, its a HORRIBLE idea. You scrape anything, bump into one of those curb things at the end of a parking spot, or get hit by a rock, a bird, some kid that thinks a foot print on your bumper is a cool accessory, ANYTHING hits it... crack = shattered bumper at 70mph. AKA 15 yr olds won't be getting wet anymore.
Besides... you can have this, and it will be mostly factory goodness.
or get a kit and look like this... not so near the goodness.
I mean... really? I know which I want. Just sayin.
How are those cars that different?
dont waste your time with a body kit. just get rims, paint the calipers red, lower the car, tint the windows, get chrome or polished aluminum grilles, do something with the headlights and tail lights, a hood with scoops thats made for the car, and a spoiler thats made for the car. all this is exactly what was done to the car TLSheff posted the picture off.
