I have an 02 gp se and i have custom housings for my lights and im upgrading my lights to HID. But before I do this i would like to shut off the low beams and be able to control them instead of having them turn on whenever the car is on. I want the headlight still on because I want the halos and parking lights to show, just not the low beam! (I have tried take the DRL fuse out, the chimes go nuts! haha

You can try removing the heatsink behind the headlight switch.

Otherwise I am unsure what you will need to do. 97-00 cars dont have that problem.

I think its a yellow wire going into the heatsink you cut? But I'm not entirely sure! Don't start cutting stuff!

Would this work on a 2000 GT as well?

You should have just pulled the connector to the DRL heatsink behind the drivers side dash. That would have disabled the DRL's. If you wanted manual control of the headlights, you could have just put a resistor on the photo sensor in the dash.

Well you could route the DRL's to the halo's. Same concept as this just to the halo's instead of the fog lamp switch.

DRL circuit Re-route to fog lamps

Isn't the DRL circuit low voltage?

I would just wire up a relay, ignition controlled, and hook it up to the halo's. If the DRL is not low voltage, then hook the blue wire you cut to the halo's.

I know on a 2000 the drls are a lower voltage but i cant speak for the rest of them but id assume they are the same as mine.
