All of this is lame for a grad present. Get something with longevity like a Tag Heuer or some golf clubs.

You got a hook up with paint or something? Your budget is gonna be pretty tight to get them painted?

Id get wheels. Wheels make or break a car. Car wouldnt look right with aftermarket hood and stuff with some stock wheels.

Wheels. by the time that hood and lip get to your door, its going to be over $1000, THEN you still have to paint it.

Well if they're paying for it and are paying for paint. I say lip/hood you could always afford wheels on your own..plus you said your rear tires are still good so ride them out for a little longer. Although I would say the hood/lip would look goofy when you still ride stock wheels. Personally I would buy used hood from classified section and get a set of wheels and tires and lip down the road but I would performance> aesthetics

I assume you're graduating from high school. Plan on going to college? If so then I'd pocket the 1K and use it for that and just DD the GP. That way when something breaks on the GP you can fix it w/o having an " oh sh*t" moment. I know it's not as nice as having a new set of wheels or some cosmetic stuff, but a money cushion is always nice.

That said, if you plan on spending it then I'd do wheels and lower it properly and maybe a different rear spoiler. Even w/o the lip and hood it will give the car a better look. Just changing the spoiler on my GT made a difference to me. Being a GT and one of my DD's I don't plan on trying to go stupid fast in it, so body mods and lowering will be about it. I just want a nice clean car that I can roll around in that is dependable.
