I want try something unique (to me) and im going to try and carbon fiber wrap my dash and center console piece. Ive seen a few people do this but only with an 04+ grand prix, but im sure someone has done it to a 97-03. i Bought 24in x 50in of high glass carbon fiber wrap on ebay. I think it might look good and unique, but ive never done any kind of wrapping before. Is it hard? especially with all the curves and openings of the 97-03 dash. What do i need to do? and opinions and help would be appreciated.

Not exactly from you. Ive seen it done before but after looking at your bezel, thats what made me want to pursue it.

You can use a hairdryer to form it to the curves.

Cut out each section where the radio is, air vents, gauge cluster and what not?

yessir! after you heat it, cut in the center of the holes, and wrap all the way to the backside so you know youll have enough to work with. otherwise there will be dash still showing, then you gotta piece in patches

You heat while you wrap Dan. and yes, it's vinyl, so there is adhesive on the back of it.

It gets tricky at times. Make sure you have a sharp blade when you cut out the holes. Most carbon fiber vinyl these days have little holes so you won't get air bubbles, but some don't so watch out for that.

Heres my thought. Envy, you would know best since you've done this.

Ill lay a full piece of carbon fiber wrap over my dash, cut a slit in the wrap in each hole for the gauge bezel, radio, vents, etc. so ill have enough wrap to fully go inside each hole and wrap behind the radio, vent holes etc. and not just cut out the area of the hole out of the wrap but just make a slit. Then slowly lay it down with a hair dryer.

Well I'll do my best to help you out. I'm nowhere near good at it , but I do have some experience...Ok yeah that's probably what I would do. For the holes poke them while using the heat gun then make the slit. It would help if you used some primer. The primer is just so the vinyl sticks better. It won't hurt anything. More than likely you will F up, and when you do just realize other ppl have F'd up well... including myself.

Yeah it you mess up peel it off and you'll have one more crack at it with the same piece.
I've done it B4 where i had to peel it off then reused the same piece again.

i feel like this is going to be real difficult with all the holes and what not in the 97-03 dash, but if i get it right, it should look real good like yours does.

    This is what i bought:
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/24-x50-2D-Hi...946c0c&vxp=mtr

WAIT, i have an idea. how about you do it for me!

yeah dude, like i said just use the excess to patch in the empty spaces, its pretty easy to match the grains of the edges so it looks like one bigass piece.
