So I replaced my dented fender awhile back with a new one from some aftermarket website. It was primed and not painted. So a few days later I grabbed some dupli color spray paint and sprayed it on there along with some clear coat. I also did the door as you can see in the pictures.
This is what I purchased for 37 dollars at kmart. It came with a 5 GAL. pale 3 applicators, 3 terry cloths, a polishing bonnet and a fininshing bonnet

These are the compounds I used.
Meguiar's/7 oz. ScratchX 2.0 swirl remover (G-10307) | Pre Cleaner | AutoZone.com
Turtle Wax/18 oz. premium rubbing liquid compound (T-415) | Polish | AutoZone.com
Super Hard Shell Car Wax Liquid 16oz- Turtle Wax-Gifts-Father's Day Gifts-Automotive
Steps
-Paint part with dupli color and clear coat
-Let dry...Then wet sand with 2000 grit wet sand paper (Im going down to a 1000 grit to redo the fender)
-Apply your first compound of choice...Mine was the premium rubbing compund
-follow polishing procedure for all three compounds
Note: You may have to add a little water to the metal as you are buffing the spots. I found it to dry a little, so I sprayed a little bit of water and it seemed to help

I think I'm going to go back over it with 1000 grit and hit it with the 2k grit and see what happens after that. All said and done, it turned out better then expected.
