    Very nice!

Quick question for you, Does it actually work as ram air?

Im thinking about it and im kinda confused on how you would get ram air on a side mounted engine. (Excuse me if that is wrong terminology)

I had a 97 ws6 and right under the snout was the air filter then intake manifold. Thats true ram air.

Does this hood actually improve the intake? If anything I would assume it would help cool the eninge, but at the same time, if it was open, wouldnt it get water and or snow on the engine on a a rainy/snowy day?

^water i'm sure while driving behind someone will get in there! the functional scoop on my cav, will collect water in the hood! and when u open it, u get 2 see all the water drip onto the engine bay...........

but i would say that kind of hood on a gtp would just be for cooling reasons. and yeah, i'm sure some air coming in could get sucked up from the intake. cooling 2 me would be the main thing.

It's mainly for looks..and cooling really. I think I've seen a raim air kit for them, but not really sure. I have a short ram w/ K&N that sits almost in the path of the ram air snouts if you will. I just wanted cooler air inside the engine area.

it is alittle "bulky" for this type of car but also gives it a nice touch...good job.

Very nice! Need some supporting appearance mods to work with the aggressiveness of the hood now.

I got it off ebay, a company called octane motorsports in CA. I would recommend trying to find a better place though. They screwed up my three day shipping into two and a half week shipping, and it wasn't functional when I got it. It fit well though, and with the right primer, it looks really good.

About the supporting mod comment..yeah definatly. Especially from the side. I want to get that SD spoiler I've seen around, and a sunroof. Other than that I like the car the way it is. Maybe some different badges, or accents, but thats it for me.

IMO if it was a 2 door, with a SD spoiler, rims, and a lower stance it would look sweet. It looks nice but at the same time kinda wierd.

Doesn't matter how the engine is mounted as long as the ducting in the hood directs the air to the air box. It's moot anyway as ram air isn't effective at speeds most people see anyway.

it looks good, but i think you need a bigger rear spolier (think slp gen 1) and the sd air dam, cause it looks kinda out of place.

Yes I know...like I said; first of many upgrades to come. Next is spoiler to balance out the car, and then some new lights all around and so on.

Unfortunatly it will be awhile before any more than that gets done. I have another vehicle that requires a new motor and lots of TLC, plus I just moved so getting back on my feet with my new job is keeping me busy. But I can't wait. I need something soon that can throw a little extra ponies under the hood for now too, cuz I'm getting used to it now and need a little more torque to get me through this slow time...hehe

personally I don't care for the WS6 hood, but it's all in what you like and you shouldn't care what others think. Nice job man

I like the SD..Found one but it was 900bucks plus shipping, this was under 500bucks. Plus this one suits my personality a bit better I think. I definatly want the SD Spoiler though...they are a perfect fit. The right amount of aggression and performance look without the ricer feel.

So did anyone who has the larger spoiler notice any better grip or is it mostley just for looks?
