I figured I'd post up a legit section for my custom hood. It's ALL METAL. I don't do fiberglass or carbon fiber. It is the only one and will probably only ever be the only one done like it, but the guy who finished it (my dad) does take orders if you want a custom hood.

    After pics:

Let me know what you guys think.

Let us see it on the car. Are those plexi sections on it?

It's not going on the car until after the engine is pulled for the 5 speed swap.

He typically charges $750 to put one in primer. Mine cost me $250 for parts and paint.

Nope. The hood skin is off of a 1973 Roadrunner and fabbed into the stock hood. That's why it might look familiar. This hood design was all on me, but if I send him a picture of something he can build just about anything.

LMAO. I'm more worried about insuring that hood. Custom things like this generally bump up the insurance pretty well.

My dad is located in NE PA for anyone interested that way. He loved the idea of doing a slight cowl on the hood and the contour matches the original so well. A friend of mine right down the street is getting his built shortly, so there will be two all metal custom hoods running around here soon.

That's all I have right now...he's done many custom hoods though. I might have a few of the Blazer hood he did if I look around.

Oh, and he said he'd build custom hoods for $500 put in primer. Forgot to put that in there.

did you use panel bond instead of welding?

I'm honestly not sure what he used. We have used panel bond in the past and it works awesome.
