You spent more than 1.5 hours on them if you buffed them by hand.
This is a lost cause.

SEAN. I dont lie!! I tell it the way it is
Cya
i spent literally 30 minutes buffing everything, 20 worth of wet sanding 15 minutes taping sh1t off, 15 minutes of tint and clear coats, idk, seems like time well spent to me, and i have the pride that goes with a good looking job that i did my self. if you like it or not doesn't matter to me or anyone else at this point, its my car, my work, and "i like it". that's all that matters.
Limey, don't join this forum acting like you know more than everyone else. I used VHT and wet sanded and buffed my tails and they turned out superb.. This was the first thing I've ever painted so it took me about 2.5 hours and it was so worth it. Here are the results...
Don't argue with these people about something you have no experience in. I wouldn't want anyone I know to go to wherever you work.
i just read this whole worthless thread hoping to see what those ricelightz looked like tinted. No such luck.
Well, sorry to disappoint ya but you ain't gonna see them tinted either,I have decided that when I get them time I am going to completely black them out except for where the lights and reflectors are.If I don't like them when I am done,oh well,I still have my stockers to go back to and I just got another pair of stockers that I am going to try my luck on with vht when I have time,if I don't sell them first. They ain't in the best shape so they have to be tinted, one even has a small crack at the top, but it can be filled and sanded.
if your tails are just dull, wet sand them, and buff them, they will look brand new, unless yours are delaminating.
these are my stock tail lights, they were quite dull looking and hazed up, i hit them with the porter cable buffer and they shined right back up.
the corner is buffed the center section is not, as you can see lol.
The stocks I took off my car look ok, the ones I got from a friend of mine are in poor shape, most of the black on the inside seems to have separated from the outer part of the light,I hate those little black lines. That is one thing that makes stock lights look bad.
here's a ****ty pic of my tails

if you go to page 2 post 22, i have a pic of tinted and stock, the stock tails had been buffed.
the last pic, post 68, was the buffing in progress, i was rounding the corner tail light getting ready to start the rear end, and i could not believe the shine the buffer cut on the corner taillight. you can see the old vs buffed on the bumper cover as well and the paint around the tail light, and the trunk.
buffer worked wonders on my headlights too. cleared them up nice.
So the moral of the story is that we can get amazing results with a little bit of work and at minimal costs! I dont think anyone can argue against that. Im gonna give the Nightshades a shot.
On a side note, I think inadvertently by reading this thread I got wet sanding figured out!
