So I just painted my front fascia. Looks really good.
Now I want to do my back one and need to know something.... Is there any way I can do it without having to remove my rear inlays?

Tape over them? Other than that not sure how else you'd get around it. If you get some overspray on them after tape removal then you could probably just wipe them with thinner or something and remove it.
My only problem with tapeing them off is I dont know how I would get the tape off and keep the inlays on.... I thought about putting grease or something on the inlays then when I spray the paint will cling to the grease and it should wipe off... If i end up having to get new inlays so be it. Thinner or anything I am worried would damage the color of the inlays...
blue painters tape.
I painted the front of mine like that, too. The bugs keep knocking out tiny spots, though.
You might run into exhaust heat trouble on the back, depending on what paint you use.
I never really thought of the heat from the exhaust... But I have seen other people do. I wonder if they used high heat paint. As far as bugs whacking paint off the front, I should be ok. I used 3 coats of clear.
And no inlays are pretty cheap, just was trying to find a way to do it without having to replace them. If I muck it up and have to replace them not a huge deal.
I havent had any paint problems, just my catless exhaust and pig rich tune is causing it to turn yellow, but a quick wash and whip down takes care of it. I doubt your car runs as rich as mine does, so I wouldn't worry lolol.
Yea I am not running FFDP PIG RICH TUNE..... So I should be ok.... I did delete my egr and I am about to go catless... But if it comes off pretty easy I am not worried about it.. I wash the car all the time anyway....![]()
Ok I just got done prepping the rear fascia and put the first coat on. I went with the blue painters tape on the inlays. We will have to see how it looks. I will post pics up later.
Ok just got done with the rear.... I recommend removing the inlays.... WAY to much work and still doesn't look as good as I want
Did you sand the rear fascia? Or a good cleaning would be good enough?
