I need to replace a bulb for my GT. I want to replace them with a brighter bulb, but I don't have the funds to get a halo or HID. I want to replace both, since replacing one with a brighter bulb and leaving the other one in, just don't make sense.

    Any suggestions?
If my pics are not working, please email me, I may have moved the pics on a different page on Photobucket. Thanks

You're not going to find much that's significantly brighter than the originals unless you go HID.

Narva Rangepower +30 will be brighter, and I believe GE Nighthawks may also be +30 (available at most stores, including Walmart). These +30 high efficacy bulbs are a different specification than regular 9007. Although they consume the same power, they are rated at 1450 vs 1350 lumens at 12.8V for the low beams, and 1095 vs 1000 lumens for the high beams. These are the only way to safely get brigher halogen bulbs. With higher wattage bulbs it's not a question of if they'll melt something, it's a question of whether the wiring or the capsules will melt first.

Agreed, buying a SilverStar is a waste of money. Suck it up, buy a HID kit and then from there on out every time you need to replace the bulbs it's only going to cost you $30 and they're going to be much better than any halogen you can buy.

So you just installed HID lights inplace of your regular bulbs? I thought you were not suppose to do that?

I was looking at the headlights, what is the easiest way to change the bulb?

take off the headlight assembly. actually easy, 1 bolt then pull up on the metal arm wedged between the assembly and the mount. ! bam!

I just replaced my factory headlamps with the same type of bulbs only tinted bulbs...cheaper...I can tell no real brightness, nor dimness....actually about the same lol, just colored. obviously its not one of ur "better" HID's

The thing is, I want the brightest, but I really don't want HID's. Maybe I am just confused, that and aren't they illegal?

I was really into those projector headlights that x3racing sells, that are listed on neweggmall. They are halo/angel eyes. Wouldn't those be brighter than regular halagon?

halogen may be factory but they're still pretty bright, in your case, i can tell that for you it'd be best to probably get the silverstars, they are brighter than factory.

and yes they can be illegal to a certain extent but my healights are little tinted, still DOT approved ...send me link to these halo/angel eyes lamps

I ordered my projectors from american muscle last summer. A month later I also ordered the Luminics bright blue bulbs because the Angel Eye Halo Projectors dont light with **** . The looks do a world of difference for the 94-98's; in my opininon aftermarket headlights are almost a must for these years, but for the lighting aspect they are absolutely terrible even with the lumincs bulbs. Hope they work out well for ya.

my son has projector headlights in his 98 and they honestly suck cant see very well with them

Re: Black Halo LED Projector Headlights

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Do yourself a favor and don't buy these lights. I had a friend buy headlights just like these for his car and he regrets it. They are way too dim, and he has to drive around with his highbeams on just to see the road. I'd suggest doing the black headlight mod, and throw some HID's in there if you're looking for the all black look.

Yah like Lelandstanford said, I do have these lights, and I love them! You do have to do a little wire splicing, but all in all installation takes about an hour and a half if you have any experience with electrical work. They are definitely not too dim, I don't know who told you that, but they are just as bright if not brighter than the stock lights. Especially if you put high intensity LED's in them.

So what would be the best route? Silverstar or SS Ultra? Is the Ultra worth the extra ten bucks? Or is there another brand?

I want to get brighter FOG bulbs as well.
