Not sure if you have to or not but in the event that you do this is how it's done:
    1. Pull the DRL fuse in the fusebox (I did this).
    2. Disconnect the little silver heatsink behind the access panel on the driver's side of the dash (there's more info on this if you're interested). I did this before I pulled the fuse, and for what it's worth, I'd say just pull the fuse and be done with the whole DRL/auto headlights thing.

You'll wanna reprogram the car to not flash the lights when you lock, unlock and pop the trunk. You can find this information in your owners manual. You'll know the procedures when you find it. It will have you pull the mall pgm fuse in the fusebox, then turn the car to accessories and hit the unlock? Button on the key fob I think. You will hear a series of dings but you wanna turn the key to the off position when you only hear it ding once. Then you put the fuse back in and make sure it worked.

The twilight (auto on) feature is fine. The DRL does need to go.

I just pulled the DRL fuse altogether. Not like it's hard work turning the headlight switch.

^ ^ This is what I did. At the time I didn't even have HID's but I still preferred to be in charge of my lights.

Besides, no reason driving around with the headlights on in broad daylight when you can rock the parkies.

Pulling the fuse on some years doesn't work. You need to unplug the DRL diode, or put a switch on it.
