I just got my rocker panel moldings today and i already got them ready for primer i cant wait to get them on. They came off a silver gtp that only had 29k miles on it so the still pretty new and in really good condition. The ones on my car are cracked and pretty warped. The silver ones have light scratches and are a little dirty. I might bedline the inside of the molding to give them some more strength and maybe prevent this from happening again. next weekend i will be putting 2 coats of sliksand (flexible primer) rubbing them down with 600 then 800 then it will be time for some color and then put on the car.

1997 GTP . repainted in jet black with blue pearl. rebuilt motor
with vs cam ported heads and blower.

I thought this thread was about the actual ROCKERS, not the SIDE SKIRTS which they are more commonly known as

dont mean to clutter your thread but i was also wondering... is there a company that sells weld in replacement rockers????

Umm so whats the actual metal of the rockers look like thats what will need attention the most! I know I thought mine on my coupe were fine with the "cladding" off then took the wasted rusting ready to crumble if you touch them metal ladder supports the cladding fits over off. Once I got the ladders or what ever the hell you call the actual pieces that hold the cladding were off I instantly seen some weight savings hit the floor in my garage and Im not talkin about the sound deadening I torched and scraped of the entire floor.
Umm yeah to make a long story short check the metal of the rockers. Ill have to get some full metal rockers or try cut good ones out of a donor car.

BTW I'd consider using some rust inhibitor under the cladding too!
